One of the most severe injuries that a person can suffer is a spinal cord injury. Although medical science has advanced in its treatment, dramatic breakthroughs in improved patient function and diminished disability have not occurred.

Quadriplegia is paralysis or loss of use in the arms and legs. This can occur in a severe injury to the neck, cervical spine, the thoracic spine or mid back.
